Classifying the candidates for action plan
The next step is to classify the candidates into following categories to make their action plans:
- Educable: After the assessment, if a child is found to be capable of furthering academic skills, and can be integrated into the normal education stream, he is referred to a suitable school near their residence; if he requires any therapy, he is helped with that in our centre; if he needs any special intervention in addition to schooling, he is assisted with that.
If the candidate is an adult who is found to be educable but is a drop out from school for any reason, we coach him / her for completing school finals through NIOS; and then try and find suitable occupation. This way, they get support in the areas they need to develop.
- Trainable: If the candidate can be trained towards open employment, efforts are made to give him training in a particular skill and placed accordingly in a suitable organisation.
If he is found capable of working only in a sheltered atmosphere, training is given in a variety of skills as per his interest and capability.
- Others: They may be severely disabled to do any kind of value adding work, but still need care, therapy and relaxation activities. They can be made to do simple pasting, packing, etc.. with individual help.
