Occupational therapy at MBA Foundation provides complete evaluation and treatment for children who have difficulty in activities of daily living, play and leisure activities. This therapy promotes development in gross motor skills, fine motor skill, sensory integration, sensory motor skills, visual motor and visual perceptual skills so that the child gains maximum independence to function at home, school and in the community and improve quality of life.
Evaluation of children with special needs begins from their birth to the age of 21 years with following diagnosis – autism spectrum disorders, sensory integration dysfunction, upper extremity injuries i.e. nerve injuries, ADHD (Attention Deficit & Hyperactivity Disorder), development disabilities, down’s syndrome and other genetic disorders, cerebral palsy and other neurological disorders and learning disabilities.
Occupational therapy provides recommendation for orthotics i.e. (splints) and prosthetics, use of adaptive equipment in pre-vocational & vocational training, and special schooling. Even work places need adaptation depending on the specific requirements of an individual, which are advised by an occupational therapist.
