MBA (Mutually Beneficial Activities)
Foundation

Started by a group of like-minded people to help parents & youngsters with different disabilities, with the required rehabilitation services. Group of 10 trustees consisting of parents and corporate experts guide the activities of the centre- rehab, finance and admin.

Starting initially with one center in Chembur, the organization grew fast as per the needs of other suburbs like Powai, Thane & Gorai. With our own building coming up in Airoli, these all have been consolidated in this building , since 2016. One Community based Rehab centre is retained in Powai - GODS' HEAVENS. It is a unit which concentrates on Early Childhood Development & Prevocational Training.
Most of the students are from underprivileged background.

The Foundation now provides services to more than 150 Beneficiaries who are affected with various types of Disabilities.

MBA Foundation has grown since the start in the year 2002
  • We are supported by eminent corporate houses, philanthropists and social organisations such as Soonabai Pirojsha Godrej Foundation, HT Parekh Foundation, Hiranandani Group, Axis Bank Foundation, Rotary, etc
  • Beneficiaries’ disabilities range from borderline to severe levels of all types of disabilities, making it truly Mutually Beneficial Activities (MBA) Foundation!!
  • At present there are about 120 regular trainees ( 3 years to 55 years) in Airoli and 34 in Powai (Sangharsh Nagar) ( 3 years to 18 years).
  • Of these, 25 are in our residential care, which is the most sought after facility by aged parents or by guardians when parents are no more; few more avail of Respite care for short periods, if and when parents need it. Few of the day care trainees are also registered for future life care.
  • The new building has disabled friendly infrastructure ready to serve 50 to 60 people in life care; but we need assured continuous flow of funds to meet the commitment & expenditure to keep the quality of our services intact.
  • While few parents pay as per their ability, some don’t; but the facilities are the same for all.
LOVE, WE GIVE FOR FREE; BUT CARE COSTS MONEY!
WE CAN SERVE MANY MORE PEOPLE WITH YOUR SUPPORT!!

Meenakshi Balasubramanian is M.com and B.Ed. by qualification. She has been associated with the Rehabilitation work for more than 30 years. Working at the Spastics Society of India, Mumbai since 1992, as Executive Director- Training , she found the urgent need for a total road map towards “a Life with Self Esteem and Dignity” for people with disabilities.
